Wall Mounted Basketball Hoop
can i put a wall-mounted basketball hoop straight onto the wall?
OK i am not a basketball player at all, but we just happen to have an old basketball hoop lying around at home, looks like this…

and i think it would be cool to just have it up. I want to install it in our garage (loads of space there).
thing is, i have no clue how to do it! i do not have a backboard to go with it, it’s just the hoop and a net. can i just screw it straight into the wall?
if so, what kind of hardware might i need? no fittings came with it, and the holes in the hoop are too big for any of the screws i have at home

I’d try to use steel nails and put into into a SOLID wall.
