The Fire continued their rebuilding season with a Third Place finish at Sista Hoopz Two Step tournament.  A week when most of the player either had prescheduled vacations or College Advanced Camps the fire played short handed going 3 in 1 at a highly competitive tournament.  The girls opened the tournament against All-Net 92. Playing with 5 girls the Fire was dropped to the loser bracket with at 10 point lost.  The next game was a forfeit as Dragons Elite did a double forfeit which gave the Fire the right to play in the 3rd place qualification game.  The Fire beat the Triple Threat from south Lake Carroll for the right to play in the 3rd place game.  The Triple Threat battled though two teams to have to right to replay the Fire for 3rd place.  In a game that was closer than the score the Fire prevailed a second time to claim the 3rd place tournament finish by a score of 48 to 23.  Fire makes it first top 3 finish of the year with only 5 athletes.  

With the start of the summer 2008 season the North Texas Fire 9th grade team kicked off with a new coach and only three full time returning players(only 1 starter) and two limited/part time returning players (players committed to other sports and teams).
